A child was killed and a woman injured in a suspected quadcopter attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, according to police sources.
The incident was reported in the Inam Khoro Chinagi area of War Mamund tehsil, where a house belonging to a resident named Hayatullah was struck.
Victims Shifted to Hospital
Police sources said Hayatullah’s nine-year-old son, Mehran, died in the incident. A 35-year-old woman, identified as Tahira Bibi, was injured.
The child’s body and the injured woman were taken to District Headquarters Hospital in Khar.
Cause Still Under Review
Officials have not yet issued a detailed public statement on the incident. Police sources said the suspected device was believed to have been fired from an unidentified location.
Security Concerns in Bajaur
The incident adds to security concerns in the district, where residents have repeatedly called for protection from violence affecting civilian areas.
